Burnt Earth

Description

Warm brown glaze with rich, layered nuances ranging from dark ochre to deeper tones. Its glossy yet restrained finish enhances the surface without creating a mirror-like shine, resulting in a lively, textured appearance.

• Opacity : opaque — Finish : glossy — Texture : smooth

Usage

• Particularly well suited to rustic deciduous trees—oak, hornbeam, elm—where its earthy tones naturally echo textured bark.
• An excellent choice for trees with dark or strongly textured trunks, reinforcing a sense of age and stability.
• Works very well in natural, powerful, or masculine compositions, where the pot provides visual grounding.
• Pairs nicely with dark green foliage, adding depth and warmth to the overall composition.
• Less suited to very light or pastel compositions, where its strong character may feel dominant.
• Ideal when aiming for a mineral, organic, timeless look, without excessive decorative effect.

Creation notes

Burnt Earth was developed to evoke heated, oxidised soil shaped by time and fire. Each firing reveals unique variations, reinforcing its raw and authentic character.
